Day 7 - Keep the Faith. Endure.

Leviticus 26-27; Psalm 112; Hebrews 10

Following Christ requires endurance and self-control. "Being doers of the word not merely hearers who deceive themselves..." requires effort. Though salvation is in Christ and not works, obedience is our reasonable service. Be bold in your faith and persevere/endure, finish the race. DO NOT FALL AWAY.

  • 26:3 "'If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
  • 26:4 then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
  • 26:5 Your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time; and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
  • 26:6 "'I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one will make you afraid; and I will remove evil animals out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
  • 26:7 You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
  • 26:14 "'But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments;
  • 26:15 and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant;
  • 26:16 I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away; and you will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.
  • 26:17 I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you.
  • 26:18 "'If you in spite of these things will not listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.
  • 26:19 I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron, and your soil like brass;
  • 26:20 and your strength will be spent in vain; for your land won't yield its increase, neither will the trees of the land yield their fruit.
  • 26:21 "'If you walk contrary to me, and won't listen to me, then I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.
  • 112:1 Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears Yahweh, who delights greatly in his commandments.
  • 112:2 His seed will be mighty in the land. The generation of the upright will be blessed.
  • 112:3 Wealth and riches are in his house. His righteousness endures forever.
  • 112:4 Light dawns in the darkness for the upright, gracious, merciful, and righteous.
  • 10:8 Previously saying, "Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn't desire, neither had pleasure in them" (those which are offered according to the law),
  • 10:9 then he has said, "Behold, I have come to do your will." He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,
  • 10:10 by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
  • 10:15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,
  • 10:16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them: 'After those days,' says the Lord, 'I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;'" then he says,
  • 10:17 "I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more."
  • 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
  • 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,
  • 10:35 Therefore don't throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.
  • 10:36 For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
  • 10:37 "In a very little while, he who comes will come, and will not wait.
  • 10:38 But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him."
  • 10:39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.

What is the Sinner's Prayer for Salvation?

The sinners prayer is a common Christian term for a prayer that is said when someone wants to repent of their sin, ask God for forgiveness, and verbally state their belief in the life, death, and saving resurrection of Jesus Christ.

"For, if with your lips you acknowledge the truth of the message that JESUS IS LORD, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with their hearts people believe and so attain to righteousness, while with their lips they make their Profession of faith and so find salvation." Romans 10:9-10

Christ's death on the cross paid in full the debt of our sin. Action must be taken to take hold of the gift.

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to forgive my own sin or to work my way to heaven through any good works. At this moment I trust Christ alone and receive by faith all Grace purchased by Jesus as the One who bore my sin when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that will ever be necessary for me to stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. As best as I can, I now transfer my trust to Him and by my faith take hold of His grace and love for me. I am grateful that He has promised to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Thank you for your word that will guide me as to how I should live my remaining days. Please grant me the wisdom to discern correctly and motivation to grow my faith, obedience, understanding, appreciation, and love for you. Thank you for your Grace and mercy that I do not deserve. Thank you that my salvation is not based on my level of performance in my short life but in my receiving what your victory on the cross did pay for. Thank you that I can receive by my faith alone, your glorious gift of salvation. Thank you for hearing this prayer and for saving me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
