Day 3 - Wickedness. Judgment promised.

Leviticus 15-18; Psalm 31; Hebrews 6

Regardless of today's and/or tommorow's political views, any mob pressure, any prominent endorsements, any celeberity's great "wisdom" of what is best for society, God's word is clear regarding unbridled wickedness and the eventual welfare of any nation that partakes.

  • 18:22 "'You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestable.
  • 18:23 "'You shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself with it; neither shall any woman give herself to an animal, to lie down with it: it is a perversion.
  • 18:24 "'Don't defile yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations which I am casting out before you were defiled.
  • 18:25 The land was defiled: therefore I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out her inhabitants.
  • 18:26 You therefore shall keep my statutes and my ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the native-born, nor the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you;
  • 18:27 (for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land became defiled);
  • 18:28 that the land not vomit you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.
  • 18:29 "'For whoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people.
  • 18:30 Therefore you shall keep my requirements, that you do not practice any of these abominable customs, which were practiced before you, and that you do not defile yourselves with them: I am Yahweh your God.'"
  • 6:4 For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
  • 6:5 and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come,
  • 6:6 and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify the Son of God for themselves again, and put him to open shame.
  • 6:7 For the land which has drunk the rain that comes often on it, and brings forth a crop suitable for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receives blessing from God;
  • 6:8 but if it bears thorns and thistles, it is rejected and near being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

What is the Sinner's Prayer for Salvation?

The sinners prayer is a common Christian term for a prayer that is said when someone wants to repent of their sin, ask God for forgiveness, and verbally state their belief in the life, death, and saving resurrection of Jesus Christ.

"For, if with your lips you acknowledge the truth of the message that JESUS IS LORD, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with their hearts people believe and so attain to righteousness, while with their lips they make their Profession of faith and so find salvation." Romans 10:9-10

Christ's death on the cross paid in full the debt of our sin. Action must be taken to take hold of the gift.

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to forgive my own sin or to work my way to heaven through any good works. At this moment I trust Christ alone and receive by faith all Grace purchased by Jesus as the One who bore my sin when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that will ever be necessary for me to stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. As best as I can, I now transfer my trust to Him and by my faith take hold of His grace and love for me. I am grateful that He has promised to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Thank you for your word that will guide me as to how I should live my remaining days. Please grant me the wisdom to discern correctly and motivation to grow my faith, obedience, understanding, appreciation, and love for you. Thank you for your Grace and mercy that I do not deserve. Thank you that my salvation is not based on my level of performance in my short life but in my receiving what your victory on the cross did pay for. Thank you that I can receive by my faith alone, your glorious gift of salvation. Thank you for hearing this prayer and for saving me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
