Grace is God’s unmerited favor. If you/we did anything to earn it or deserve it,
it is not grace.
"for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
not of works, that no one would boast."
The religious man was the Pharisee in Jesus’ parable who thought himself to be righteous.
He was not justified from his sins, because he was trusting in his own good works to save him. Luke 18:9-14
The thief was hanging next to Jesus on the cross. Jesus paid his debt and the thief went to heaven that very day. Luke 23:39-43
God’s grace has provided not only for salvation but also for every need for our lives.
Those provisions are not based on whether you are praying enough, reading the Bible enough,
going to church, or even paying your tithes.
Before you ever became discouraged, God blessed
you with all spiritual blessings.
Before you were sick, God, through grace, provided
1 Peter 2:24
Before you ever had a financial need, God created the provision. God anticipated every need
you could ever have and has met those needs through Jesus before you existed. That’s grace.
Grace is what God does; faith is what we do.
It takes both grace and faith working together to receive salvation.
Our part is to accept what God has already done. Grace must be balanced with faith.
